I am trying to spread the word about an interesting film project...
Birth Matters Virginia is inviting mothers, fathers, filmmakers, film students, birth advocates, and others to create a 4-7 minute documentary video about birth. The subject can be anything related to mother-friendly maternity and delivery care, and the goal is to educate women about their options and choices. The first-place winner will receive a cash prize of $1000. Second place $500 and an honorable mention prize of $100 will also be awarded. The deadline for entering the contest is Mother's Day, May 10, 2009. The organization is based in Virginia, but entries from around the world are welcome and all are eligible for prizes, both amateur and professional.
Guest judges of the video contest are Sarah Buckley, Ricki Lake, and Abby Epstein (the former is an MD, homebirth mother of four and author of "Gentle Birth, Gentle Mothering: A Doctor's Guide to Natural Childbirth and Gentle Early Parenting Choices," and the latter two known for "The Business of Being Born," which you must see if you haven't).

I think if they are doing a video on Birth, they should get all sides to the story. Not just the Yay birth side. I would love to see a story of fetal loss. Many folks don't think about this but it is very, very important to the folks and families who go through it.
Also I would suggest they contact Jeffery Phalen MD JD. He has a very interesting view on Birth.
I like to see all sides of the subject when I see a movie or documentary. I don't want propaganda. I want information and in order to get all the information, you need all sides of the story. Wow maybe I should submit my video? Or maybe I could have my Nursing Students submit a video.
The contest is really to educate women about birthing options. I think they definitely would like to see all sides of the birthing issue. Their watchword is evidence-based medicine, and mother-friendly medicine. I think there could be a lot of ways to approach that. you should definitely make a video. The videos are all going on YouTube, so they can't control what people upload and tag with the tags they've given. Do it.
I have talked to a couple of people who feel this way--that they are only soliciting videos about natural birth or home birth or whatever, but if you read their list of topics, it seems pretty open-minded.
I don't know if fetal loss really fits into this contest though. While it is undoubtedly a crucial issue that affects so many families, it's hard to weave a story of fetal loss into birth options, unless you want to talk about what women should do if they have a loss.
You should make a video about whatever moves you!!
