Boston Globe op-ed

This is an opinion piece I wrote based on a recent survey by Childbirth Connection, a maternity advocacy group that has been around since 1918. The group asked women who gave birth in American hospitals in 2005 about their experiences. You can read the survey at www.childbirthconnection.org.

I am a student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and chose to use "Birth" as my primary source in a research project I am conducting for a seminar called "Birth and Death in the United States." I was very happy to find a modern perspective on the historical practices of birth and thoroughly enjoyed the straight-forward, clear writing of Tina Cassidy.
